Windlab is pleased to announce the appointment of Garth Heron as GM Australia. As the General Manager of our Australian operations, he will be responsible for the continued growth of Windlab within the country and into new markets.

Garth has over 12 years of management, banking, technical and construction experience in the wind energy industry and has made substantial contributions to wind power projects and transactions across China, Australia, India, South Africa, Latin America and USA. Garth was formerly the Director of Business Development for Goldwind International and contributed significantly toward Goldwind´s international growth moving from 5th largest in 2009, to become the largest wind turbine manufacturer worldwide in 2011-2012.

In Latin America, he secured and led the construction on the first wind farm in Ecuador, an EPC project for Goldwind. This project pushed the envelope of technical feasibility for the global industry as one of the highest wind farms in the world (at 2700m above sea level) and one of the windiest, with an average on-site wind speed in excess of 12m/s.

Prior to working for Goldwind, he spent two years as Vice President, Renewable Energy and Climate Change for Macquarie Bank based out of Hong Kong.  Garth was also one of the founding members of Roaring 40s, an Australian wind developer that completed approximately 1000MW wind power projects across Australia, China and India.
