The Windlab Board has appointed Eva Hanly to the role of Chair.

She brings more than 20 years’ experience in the energy and infrastructure sector, following senior roles at WorleyParsons, Origin Energy, Transgrid and Transurban.

Ms Hanly said Windlab has a critical role to play in Australia’s energy transition.

“I’m proud to have been appointed chair of Windlab, a 100 percent Australian company supporting Australia’s clean energy transition,” she said.

“Windlab has led the world in applying the latest technology in constructing and operating the nation’s top wind energy projects.

“I am excited to play my part in helping to bring cutting-edge renewable energy technology and development expertise to Australia and the world, accelerating the global energy transition.”

Ms Hanly was appointed CEO of Squadron Energy in June. Squadron Energy is the majority owner of Windlab alongside Federal Asset Management.

John Martin, CEO of Windlab, welcomed the appointment to the board.

“Eva brings a wealth of experience in industry and infrastructure to our board and will support our company in its next phase of growth and development,” Mr Martin said.

Windlab has played a foundation role in the creation of Australia’s wind industry. It is an Australian-based, technology-focused renewable energy developer, owner, and operator.

It has developed over 1GW of wind farms in North America, Australia, New Zealand and Southern Africa and amassed a high-quality pipeline of wind farm development projects in excess of 10GW.

Windlab uses a combination of WindScape (CSIRO developed) technology and a highly skilled workforce to design and develop some of the most efficient renewable energy projects in Australia.

Windlab is currently working to deliver the Clarke Creek Wind Farm for Squadron Energy.

The Clarke Creek Wind, Solar and Battery Farm in central Queensland is Australia’s biggest grid-connected energy project.
