Windlab, in conjuction with Rugby Wind Farm co-developers Suzlon Energy Australia, have celebrated the opening of an information centre in Boorowa. The centre, located in the main street of Boorowa, will allow people to learn about the Rugby Wind Farm project and the preceeding work of Windlab and the technology it has developed.

A focus on technical excellence and the development of advanced wind modeling tools has led to Windlab's success in identifying and developing sites such as the Rugby Wind Farm. Windlab is a world leader in the wind farm industry, with a proven track record in locating these highly prospective and viable sites.

Rugby Wind Farm will provide clean energy sufficient to power every home in Boorowa, Yass, Gouburn and Canberra.  The Rugby and Boorowa regions will also benefit from the creation of up to 120 jobs and $40 million injected into the local economy during construction. Once completed the project will employ 20 full-time operational staff and create a further $3 million by way of economic activity each year.

The Information centre will allow the local community to access information on how Windlab identifies commercially viable sites, how the sites are developed with consideration to flora and fauna and the existing uses of the land, and the environmental and community benefits of wind energy overall.

Further information about the project is also available on the website rugbywindfarm.com.au and general inquiries can be directed to [email protected].
