Coopers Gap Wind Farm is a 453MW wind energy project to be located at Cooranga North, approximately 180kms north-west of Brisbane, Queensland. Upon completion in 2019, it will be Australia’s largest wind farm.

The site was identified by Windlab’s WindScape technology and jointly developed with AGL, reaching financial close in 2017.

Construction of the $850 million project commenced September 2017, and is projected to be completed by mid-2019 with 123 turbines supplied by GE.

As the largest Wind Farm in Australia, Cooper’s Gap Wind Farm will generate approximately 1 510 000MWh of electricity per year, enough to power 250,000 average Australian homes. CO2 emissions will be reduced as a result, by 1 180 000 tonnes of per annum.
