The Greewich Wind Park is located in Ohio’s Huron County, 105km southwest of Cleveland. The site is expected to have 25 turbines at 2.4 MW each for a total capacity of 60MW. The terrain is predominantly used for grazing and crops.
The site was identified in late 2009, and was approved by the Ohio Power Siting Board in 2015.
Whilst Ohio is not known for its wind resource, Windlab was able to identify this location (another needle in a haystack) using Windscape. This excellent resource is located adjacent to a 69 kV distribution line, and the simplicity of the terrain makes it an ideal wind farm location.
When completed, the project is expected to bring in up to US$500,000 in tax revenue for the County.
