John joined Windlab in mid 2021 to oversee the construction of Windlab’s extensive portfolio of projects.
John has been involved in the power generation industry for most of his career holding a variety of executive positions within Construction Contractors leading the construction of power projects worldwide.
John has over thirty years of experience in the energy, infrastructure and investment banking sectors. Prior to joining Windlab, John was Chief Executive of the ASX listed New Energy Solar and LSE listed US Solar Fund Plc. In this role John lead the creation of a diversified portfolio of large scale solar power plants in the United States and Australia with total capacity of over 1.2 GWDC .
Before establishing these renewable energy investment funds, John had a long career running corporate advisory and banking with a focus on the renewable energy, infrastructure and resources sectors while working for firms such as ABN Amro, Zurich, NAB and PwC.
Nathan Blundell is a globally experienced leader with more than 20 years’ experience in the energy sector. As Windlab’s General Manager of Development he oversees $30 billion of projects and a development pipeline of more than 20GW.
Nathan established his career in oil and gas, working across the full resource lifecycle for internationals BP, Shell and PetroChina both in Australia and the United States. His desire to expand his industry experience into renewables saw him complete his Masters in Sustainable Energy at the University of Queensland before joining Windlab in 2021.
With an ambitious portfolio and a clear vision for unlocking the resources and scale critical for Australia’s decarbonisation objectives, Nathan and his team are passionate ‘raising the bar’ for how industry responds to local-scale impacts of projects, and collaborates to deliver value in partnership with its diverse stakeholders to support a just transition.
Nathan is a co-founder of Windlab and a global leader in the field of wind resource assessment. He has been integrally involved in prospecting and project development activities across Windlab's global portfolio.
As Chief Development Officer, Nathan leads all technical activities including the application of WindScape technology, wind turbine procurement and project finance due diligence. Before Windlab, Nathan was employed as a post-doctoral fellow at leading research institutes in the UK (EnFlo) and Australia (CSIRO) where he was the lead developer of WindScape. Nathan is an Adjunct Fellow at the Australian National University’s Energy Change Institute where Windlab teaches Australia’s only post-graduate level course in Wind Energy.
Nicole has more than 30 years’ experience in human resources, with 15 years in senior managerial positions. Her experience has primarily been gained in the professional services and high-tech industries. She has extensive experience in growing small companies to large companies and is passionate about creating inclusive and productive cultures.
Nicole is responsible for all aspects of people and culture including the attraction, development, wellbeing and retention of our employees.
Mark oversees Windlab’s operational teams, including Asset Management and the WindScape Institute. He has three decades of power sector experience in various roles including state utility operations, policy advice, sector restructuring, power project development, renewable construction, operations and asset management. He was responsible for Globeleq’s portfolio of wind and solar projects in South Africa prior to joining Windlab in Australia in 2018.
Mark holds postgraduate qualifications in electrical engineering, public policy and an MBA. He has served in various industry leadership roles.
As Windlab’s General Manager Operations, Sarah’s passion is to bring people to the centre of the Energy Transition with impact, authenticity, and equality.
Sarah brings 20 years of global energy industry experience having worked in utility scale wind, solar, biomass, hydro, gas, coal, battery storage, and decentralised assets across Australia, United Kingdom and New Zealand for AGL, Helius Energy, Connell Wagner and others.
Sarah and her team manage renewable energy assets across Australia delivering more than 320MW of clean energy to the NEM every year. Sarah brings a depth of understanding of the operational challenges and opportunities that our sector faces, ensuring Windlab’s operational assets remain the most consistently top performing renewable energy assets in the NEM.
Sarah is a Board Director of the Australian Asset Management Council.
Sean is a Chartered Accountant who has worked in the energy sector for the last 10 years in a range of roles in different organisations.
He is responsible for Windlab’s corporate finance operations including financial reporting, tax, treasury, and corporate governance. Sean also oversees Windlab’s IT function.
