Windlab is proud to announce the formal endorsement of our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) by Reconciliation Australia — an important step forward in our commitment to working in respectful and enduring partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

As a renewable energy company operating across regional Australia, we recognise the deep cultural, spiritual, and historical connection that First Nations peoples have to Country. Our Innovate RAP reflects our belief that the clean energy transition is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to deliver social, cultural, and economic benefits in partnership with Traditional Owners and First Nations communities.

Over the next two years, our Innovate RAP will guide tangible actions and initiatives across four focus areas:

  • Relationships: Building trust and connection with First Nations peoples and organisations.
  • Respect: Recognising and celebrating the world’s oldest continuing cultures.
  • Opportunities: Creating pathways for participation and leadership in renewable energy.
  • Governance: Embedding accountability and transparency into how we work.

We’re committed to continuing to listen, learn, and act — and to ensuring that First Nations voices are centred in the work we do.

We thank Reconciliation Australia for their support and guidance and acknowledge the contributions of our RAP Working Group and Leigh Harris of ingeous studios in bringing this plan to life. Leigh is a proud Aboriginal man with connections to the Kangulu people of Central Queensland and the Gungarri people of South East Queensland, and he designed both our RAP and its digital artwork.

The bespoke design embodies our commitment to empowering communities through renewable energy and highlights Windlab’s role in fostering sustainable, on-Country economic opportunities for First Nations peoples while supporting improved environmental outcomes across Australia. At its centre is Windlab’s Acknowledgement/Reconciliation icon — an emblem that will be used across our offices and assets to honour Traditional Custodians and affirm our commitment to reconciliation. Woven throughout the design are our core values — Be Tenacious, Raise the Bar, Think Differently, and Be Ruthlessly Responsible —which guide the way we work with communities nationwide.
