Windlab has used its expertise to identify a potential wind farm in the Balranald and Kyalite area. The development of a wind farm will generate significant investment in the broader Balranald and Murray River area and will be compatible with existing agricultural and farming activities.
The project is at an early stage and could host up to 107 wind turbines, with the potential to provide clean energy to up to 470,000 NSW homes.
To date, Windlab has been monitoring the wind and undertaking preliminary studies. We are now preparing a Scoping Report which will be submitted to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) to determine the development approval requirements for the project.
No one knows your community better than you. To share what you value the most about your community, please take 5 minutes to have your say and share any feedback about the proposed project via our online survey.
Community drop-in sessions were held in Balranald and Kyalite in July. Windlab will now include the community feedback from these sessions within the Scoping Report for submission to the DPIE. The communities that host Windlab projects are lifelong stakeholders and Windlab invites your feedback throughout the whole process.
Windlab is looking forward to continuing our engagement with the Balranald and Murray River communities to find ways that the area can benefit from the project. For more information or to share your feedback please call 02 6175 4600 or email [email protected]
